Via Alpina 2020

The Via Alpina is a 390 km long trail across Switzerland. It starts in Vaduz and ends in Montreux and between the two towns lie 14 beautiful Alpine Passes. Once I stopped comparing this trail with the the PCT, the GDT or the AT I really started enjoying it. It’s gorgeous. Not dangerous at all, steep at times but totally doable during a 16 day holiday break. For me, it was a chance to finally check out my own back yard. I happen to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, but somehow I always end up going far away. Due to Covid, I was trapped like everyone else and it made me look at my home a little closer.

I highly recommend the VA. It’s an easy one. Great for beginners since you can technically get to town every day if you want to. Shoot me a message if you have any questions about it. And go hike!
